“What is a Google Partner?”
This is a great question that I get quite a bit. Here is Google’s definition, “Google Partners is Google’s program for advertising agencies, digital marketing professionals, and other online consultants. When you sign up for Partners, you’ll get access to a range of benefits. These benefits include special events and training, industry research, certifications, and more.”
So why is this important for not marketing agencies or digital marketing professionals? If you manage your own business marketing, knowing how to use the Google tools to run your marketing campaigns can help you play with the big boys.
Google has several certifications you can earn as a partner. There are three main certifications and then sub-certifications you can earn under each main category. The three main categories are Adwords Fundamentals, Analytics, and Mobile. Mastering these three areas can help you optimize your site and understand what people think when they see your landing page.
Getting certified in each area requires getting at least 80% on a 120 question exam. That might sound daunting, but they have self-paced courses you can take but are not required to, before you take the test. I highly recommend the course as it is very hands-on and full of great information.
